Examination of the EILP document
The hearing sessions for the examination of the Local Plan Employment and Industry Document took place in February 2018. The purpose of the hearings was for the Planning Inspector to examine matters relating to the "soundness" of the plan in more detail. These matters are identified in the main issues and questions paper prepared by the Planning Inspector.
The hearings were held at Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, SW18 2PU.

Consultation on Main Modifications to the Plan
Following the hearing sessions, the Inspector proposed a number of Main Modifications to the submission version of the Plan, which he considers necessary to make the Plan 'sound' and/or legally compliant. Public consultation on the Main Modifications took place between 23 May and 8 July 2018. This consultation was on the proposed Main Modifications, and the supplementary Sustainability Appraisal Screening of the Main Modifications only, and not other aspects of the Plan.
Main Modifications are those which the Inspector considers are necessary to make the Plan sound and/or legally compliant.

These contain minor changes put forward by the Council during the Examination. They have been published for completeness and were not before the Inspector. The changes set out in Appendix 1 should be read in conjunction with the Policies Map changes document.
Inspector's Report
The Planning Inspector, Kenneth Stone BSc (Hons) Dip TP MRTPI, has reported on the Examination into the Wandsworth Local Plan. He recommended a number of final Main Modifications to be made in order to make the Local Plan sound. These accompany his report as an appendix.
The examination is now closed.
Adoption
The Local Plan Employment and Industry Document was adopted by the Council on 5 December 2018. The adopted Plan incorporates all of the Main Modifications recommended by the Inspector alongside the Additional Modifications made by the Council. It is a Development Plan Document, which forms part of the Wandsworth Local Plan alongside the Core Strategy, Development Management Policies Document (DMPD) and Site Specific Allocations Document (SSAD). It will guide development in the borough over the next 15 years (2016-2031) and will be used to inform decisions on planning applications.
Copies of the Local Plan, together with the Sustainability Appraisal Report, the Inspector's Report and this Adoption Statement are below and available for public inspection at the Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, SW18 2PU and in the borough's main libraries (locations and opening times are available on our Libraries page).
