Draft Local Plan: Submission
Wandsworth's Local Plan (Publication Version), along with other publication and submission documents, was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination in Public by a Planning Inspector on 29 April 2022.
The Local Plan outlines a vision and spatial strategy to guide the development of the borough from 2023, when the Plan is anticipated to be adopted, to 2038. It sets out key objectives for the borough, which are supported by planning policies, area strategies and - at the smallest scale - detailed guidance for the development of specific sites. Collectively, these identify where development should be targeted and set out how the borough's neighbourhoods and places will change over the next 15 years.
The examination will assess whether the Plan has been prepared in accordance with legal and procedural requirements and whether it is ‘sound’.
The Local Plan has gone through various stages of consultation. The most recent consultation on the Publication version of Local Plan ran from 10 January to 28 February 2022.
The submission to the Secretary of State includes all comments received during this consultation and all the earlier rounds of consultation. Submission of the Local Plan forms the fifth stage of the full review of the borough's Local Plan.
