About the waiting list

Unsuccessful applicants are included in the school's waiting list. This includes applications that were submitted after the deadline. These applicants are ranked according to the school's oversubscription criteria in their admissions arrangements.

Your child can be in different places on a school’s lists as part of a different categories/bands. Waiting list positions can go up as well as down. This is because waiting lists are revised if, for example, a new application is received or a child on the list moves nearer to the school.

School places are not determined by how long a child has been on the waiting list.

Waiting list positions are held for Wandsworth schools only. Please contact the relevant local authority school admissions team for more information about waiting list positions for schools outside Wandsworth.

Banding

The school split their applicants into five bands according to their test scores with Band A containing those achieving the highest test scores and Band E those with the lowest test scores. Within each band, pupils are considered against the published admission criteria for schools. In Wandsworth, Ashcroft Technology Academy and Chestnut Grove Academy operate banding. The waiting list position shown is within the respective band.

Ability places

The school offers some places based on the pupil’s test score with those applicants achieving the highest score allocated first. Within Wandsworth, Burntwood School and Graveney School offer places based on ability. These schools also offer open places based on the school’s admission criteria without reference to ability. The waiting list position shown for these schools is within the respective category of place - selective/ability places or non-selective/open places.

Specialist aptitude places

The school offers some places based on aptitude for a specialist subject. These places will be offered on the basis of performance in an aptitude test organised by the school, with those scoring highest allocated first. Within Wandsworth, Ashcroft Technology Academy, Chestnut Grove Academy and Saint Cecilia’s School offer specialist aptitude places. All of these schools also offer open places based on the school’s admission criteria without reference to ability. Foundation (faith based) places

Saint Cecilia’s Church of England School offers some places to children of families who are practising members of a Christian church. The school also offers open places based on the school’s admission criteria without reference to faith. The waiting list position shown for the school is within the respective category of place.

Feeder school places

Bolingbroke Academy gives a degree of priority to pupils attending five feeder schools: Ark John Archer Primary, Belleville Primary School, Belleville Wix Primary Academy, Falconbrook Primary School, and Honeywell Junior School. The number of places available for pupil attending each feeder school depends on the number of applications received for children attending that school. The waiting list position shown is for the respective feeder school place or for a place based just on distance if your child does not attend one of the named feeder schools.
