Waste and Recycling A-Z
Nappies
- Disposable nappies
- Re-usable (or “real”) nappies
Recycle, reuse or dispose
Re-usable cloth nappies are kinder to the environment than single-use disposable ones. Re-usable cloth nappies are also cheaper than disposables in the long run, especially if you buy them second hand or use them for more than one baby.
The average baby uses 5,400 nappies over two years, producing about a tonne of nappy waste if disposables are used.
