Family cycle training

Family cycle training courses are run for the whole family. A qualified instructor will teach you how to cycle together, using quiet routes and parks.

About the course

Our bespoke family cycle training is delivered one-to-one with each family, which may consist of up to two adults and two children per instructor, but at least one adult over 18 is required to attend.

Children must be aged 5 or over, and the sessions will cater to the needs of the least-able cyclist in the family. Lessons are two hours, and each participant must provide their own, roadworthy bike. These courses are free. For more information please contact the Road safety Team.

The course will cover:

  • Cycle safety
  • Handling
  • Road procedure
  • Local route planning
  • Helmets/clothing

All simple health and safety rules must be met by course participants and cycle helmets are required.
