Public cycle parking in Wandsworth

We’re making it easier and safer to travel by bike in Wandsworth – and that includes providing secure, accessible places to park your cycle.

Whether you’re heading to work, school, the station or the shops, we want to make sure there’s somewhere convenient nearby to lock your bike with confidence.

Types of cycle parking

We have a range of parking options across the borough to support different needs.

On-street cycle stands

Found in town centres, outside shops and near local amenities – ideal for quick stops or day-to-day errands.

Bikehangars

Secure, covered on-street storage for residents who don’t have space at home. Each hangar stores six bikes and is managed by a specialist company.

Parking for non-standard bicycles

The requirements for parking non-standard bicycles, such as cargo bikes, tricycles, hand-cycles, tandems and other adapted bicycles can be more challenging. More dedicated spaces for non-standard bicycles are being introduced in town centres and near schools

We’re continuing to expand these facilities, and we welcome your ideas on where new cycle parking would be most useful.

We use request forms to help us build a complete picture of where more cycle parking is needed.

You will need:

What happens next

Every suggestion is reviewed by our team. We prioritise areas with the greatest need and consider factors such as safety, availability of space and expected levels of demand.

We review requests every few months for on-street cycle parking and around twice a year for bikehangars.
