Booker BMW redevelopment planning appeal

A public inquiry is being held by the Planning Inspectorate into the redevelopment of a site known as the Booker Cash & Carry and BMW Car Service Garage located at 41-49 and 49-59 Battersea Park Road London SW8.

Inquiry background

Watkin Jones Group has appealed against the Council’s non-determination of the planning application for the:

Demolition of the existing building and construction of three new buildings (between 12 and 22 storeys in height), comprising 55 residential units (Use Class C3) and Student Accommodation comprising 762 student bedrooms (Sui Generis) along with 495sqm (GIA) flexible Commercial, Business and Service (Use Class E) and/or Local Community and Learning (Class F) floorspace with associated works including hard and soft landscaping, car parking, new vehicular access/servicing, and other ancillary works.

Date and time

The Planning Inspectorate’s Inquiry for the Booker/BMW site will start on Tuesday 29 April 2025 and it is planned to sit for four days.

Seating is limited for public attendance and will be allocated first come, first served each day.

No banners, posters or tannoys will be permitted in the inquiry room.

An additional day on Tuesday 6 May 2025 is held in reserve for a virtual sitting should it assist the Inquiry.

Unless otherwise agreed or indicated all days will start at 10am.
