Removal of parking machines 2024
We have programmed the removal of our least used pay and display parking machines. Most people now prefer to pay for their parking using their mobile phones.
The majority of our pay and display machines will remain in place. The removal of the machines will not impact the cost of parking.
Machines being removed
You can view the list of machines that will be removed in 2024.
All pay and display machines scheduled for removal will display a machine label before being taken out of service. When they are no longer in service, the parking ticket machine will be covered over until it is removed.
Paying for parking
Visitors to the streets where the machines are being removed will still be able to pay for parking using RingGo. RingGo is a free to download mobile phone application service, which lets you pay for parking with a credit or debit card.
Clear instructions on paying for your parking are provided on signs at the roadside, including the telephone number for RingGo and the unique location code where you are parked. Most users prefer to use the mobile phone app, which is available on iOS and Android.
You can also use RingGo by making a phone call, sending a text or pay through their website.
Enforcement
The RingGo facility relies on vehicle specific information such as your vehicle registration number. Our Civil Enforcement Officers can check for active parking sessions by looking up your vehicle on their handheld device. There is no need to display anything in your vehicle.
Alternative ways to pay
If you can't use RingGo, you will need to find an alternative pay and display machine nearby.
There will be an alternative machine available approximately 500ft away from any removed machine.
