Q&A: Council leader Simon Hogg answers questions from residents

At the latest in a series of community drop-in events around the borough, people from the local area came along to Battersea’s Park Court Clubroom to chat with councillors, council officers and police over cups of tea and coffee, cake and sandwiches.

Residents also posted comments on a large map of the area to highlight to the council where they would like to see funding allocated for improvements.

Councillor Simon Hogg listened to the views and concerns of local people and tackled questions about housing problems, homelessness, anti-social behaviour and e-bikes.

He said: “We want to improve our borough for everyone so that all our residents have the same opportunities in life and have a decent place to live. It was really important to come to Battersea today to hear first-hand the real issues that affect people so that we know what we have to do to change things. I need to hear about how we can help - whether that’s dealing with damp and mould, landlord licencing, homelessness or the actions we’re taking against fly-tipping and careless use of e-bikes.”

Partner organisations including Citizens Advice Wandsworth and Neighbourhood Watch were also on hand to provide information and advice.
