Statement from Kemi Akinola, Deputy Leader of Wandsworth Council, on the Hurricane in Jamaica 

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Jamaica and Cuba as they face the devastating impact of hurricane Melissa. We know that many residents in Wandsworth have close family and friends on the island, and this news will bring concern and sadness. 

Wandsworth has a lively and vibrant Caribbean community who contribute so much to the life of our borough, and our thoughts go out to those affected.
