People in Wandsworth are invited to speak to experts face-to-face at our next Money Advice Roadshow, taking place on Friday 6 June at St Mark’s Church, Battersea Rise. The event will begin at 1pm, and run until 3:30pm, starting shortly after the St Mark’s foodbank finishes its weekly session (12:30pm).

At the roadshow, you will be able to sit down with advisors from trusted organisations for free, confidential, and tailored support on money, debt, housing, and household bills. The event is being run in partnership with the St Mark’s foodbank, which is helping to promote the roadshow within the local community.
The drop-in session is part of our wider cost of living programme – the most generous in London – and follows the launch of the new Access for All scheme, the best local concessionary scheme in Britain.

Council Leader Simon Hogg said: "We’re proud to be offering London’s most generous cost of living support and Britain’s best concessionary scheme through Access for All. Events like the Money Advice Roadshow show what a listening council looks like – reaching people in their communities, working with partners like St Mark’s, and helping residents to get the right advice at the right time."
What do your neighbours say?
Recent visitors to the roadshow in Roehampton described it as “essential” and “very helpful” – praising the chance to speak to a real person and get advice that feels tailored to their individual situation.
“We do feel more relieved now we’ve spoken to them,” said Nesreen Akhtar, who came to the roadshow with her son. “It’s much better than reading emails – it’s easier face to face. I would tell my friends and family to come.”
Another visitor, Surjeeta Babla, explained: “Before, I was anxious - now I know where I should go. I liked that I could get accurate information here.”
And Serena Martin, a 67-year-old resident who lives in sheltered housing, said: “These events are essential. I’ve been very confused, but I do feel a sense of achievement and a way forward.”
Get support
We are continuing to deliver support through local partners including Citizens Advice, the Financial Inclusion team, Age UK, housing experts and more. Attendees will be seen on a drop-in basis, and everyone is encouraged to come along and talk to someone in person.
