Wandsworth Council is taking part in the national campaign run by the charity Plantlife to encourage biodiversity and attract pollinators.
Judi Gasser, cabinet member for Environment, said: “We pledged to make Wandsworth more sustainable, and are working hard with Enable to make our natural habitats more resilient and biodiverse.
“ That’s why we support No Mow May and Let it Bloom June, and why we encourage residents to let nature flourish in their own gardens.”
Enable, which looks after the parks and open spaces in the borough, is allowing selected areas of grass to be left unmown across 20 sites. Most sites will continue to be unmown in June to allow wildflowers, plants and insects to continue to thrive.
Local people are also being urged to leave the lawnmower in the shed to attract pollinators to their gardens.
