Residents in Wandsworth can now shop more sustainably thanks to a new online store launched by REWORK, the reuse partnership between Wandsworth Council, Groundwork London and Western Riverside Waste Authority.

REWORK refurbishes unwanted or broken appliances and gives them a new lease of life, making them available to buy at affordable prices through its new online store.
The initiative helps reduce waste, cut carbon emissions and provides local people with high-quality refurbished goods at a lower cost, all part of Wandsworth’s ambition to be a more sustainable, low-waste borough.
The launch of the online shop builds on REWORK’s existing offer at Smugglers Way Household Waste and Recycling Centre, where donated items are repaired and tested by a skilled team of technicians and apprentices.
Over the past five years, Wandsworth residents have dropped off more than 8,600 electrical items and over 2,300 pieces of furniture to Smugglers Way which have been refurbished and rehomed, in total that’s equivalent to almost 160 tonnes or around 13 double-decker buses.
Paul White, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “We’re working hard to make Wandsworth a cleaner, greener borough, and that includes finding practical ways to help residents reuse and recycle more.
“REWORK is a fantastic example of how we can cut waste while giving people access to affordable refurbished tech and home appliances.
“We’re proud to partner with REWORK on this brilliant initiative and would encourage everyone to check it out next time one of your most-used appliances breaks, to save buying new.”
The REWORK online shop is now live and will be updated regularly with new stock. Residents can also continue to donate unwanted electrical items in good condition at Smugglers Way.
