Together on waste
We are reducing the volume of household and council waste and increasing recycling.
We want to maximise and encourage uptake of the 3 R’s principles of reduce, reuse, recycle.
What we are doing
Actions we are taking on waste:
- Continue to send zero waste to landfill
- Eliminating single use plastic from council organisations
- Delivery of informative communications to residents about the environmental impact of waste
What you can do
Actions you can take:
- Only purchase what you need to reduce food waste
- Recycle or reuse what you can
- Participate in the circular economy - Introduction to the Circular Economy
- Research what can and can’t be recycled - Recycling 101 by London Recycles
- Reduce single use plastic consumption
- Don’t litter
If you are running an event, read through our sustainability guide and sustainability checklist for tips to make planning, running, and clearing up after your event more sustainable and waste-free.
