The council has a new administration, leader and cabinet following the local elections, and the new cabinet members are keen to meet local people and start work.

The new positions were all endorsed last night (Wednesday) at Wandsworth’s annual council meeting.

The council has seven cabinet members who each take responsibility for shaping work around their individual service or policy area   – for example parks, business support, housing, transport, schools, the environment, finance and health.

The new Council Leader, Cllr Simon Hogg, said: "Following last night's annual council meeting we now have the new administration and cabinet members in place. Our team is committed to working with residents, community groups and partner organisations to be a strong voice for the people of Wandsworth and run a council built on fairness and equal opportunities for all."

The council social media accounts will be posting the videos of the new cabinet members over the next three weeks. The first video is by Cllr Clare Fraser who is the cabinet lead for transport. She has responsibility for transport improvements and infrastructure, including roads, pavements and parking.

The next video is Deputy Council Leader Cllr Kemi Akinola who will be leading on the voluntary sector, business engagement, and culture.

Next is Cllr Aydin Dikerdem, the new Cabinet Member for Housing, who talks about his ambitions for building affordable homes for local people.

The new cabinet member for the environment, Cllr Judi Gasser, talks about her ambitions for parks, recycling and cleaner air.

Cabinet member for Children Kate Stock talks about her ambitions to create excellent, joined-up services for all the borough's children and families.
