New Shared Home for Battersea Baptist Church and Thames Christian College

By acquiring the old church and school buildings the Winstanley and York Road Joint Venture can now demolish them and unlock a key part of the regeneration site. This will provide the space to build more new council social rent homes and open market sale homes in two modern mixed tenure blocks.  

Cllr Jonathan Cook, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration said:

“The Winstanley and York Road regeneration is a key project for the council. The total cost of the regeneration scheme will be in the region of £1.1 billion, including £188 million net investment from the council. This is a significant milestone for the scheme and will allow us to move forward with the next phase of development and deliver more much-needed new housing.”

Battersea Baptist Church provides a high quality, modern space for the church and secures a future home for the Baptist Church in the Battersea area. The church will be celebrating its 350^th anniversary in June this year.

Thames Christian College are delighted with their new building and completed the move over the February half term.
