Stack London has strong experience in the construction sector, working on a number of projects including new residential buildings and complex refurbishment projects across London and the South East of England.
Work will soon start on the development of the new 14-unit development, seven of which will be Council homes for rent with the remaining seven being equity share homes. Two of the units will be fully wheelchair accessible.
The project team will soon be arranging an event for local residents to meet with the contractor and raise any questions that they might have about the development.
Councillor Jonathan Cook, Cabinet Member for Housing at Wandsworth Council, said:
“This is an important milestone for the project, and indeed the wider Alton Estate. At Wandsworth Council, we place great importance on the quality of wheelchair accessible units so I am pleased to see that there are two homes included in this scheme. We are looking forward to working with Stack and starting on site to deliver further housing in the borough.”
The new flats will be allocated to tenants and residents in the Alton regeneration area.
The Mayor of London recently confirmed that he is content for the London Borough of Wandsworth to determine the planning application for the long-awaited regeneration of the Alton Estate.
Proposals for the regeneration area include a variety of homes across a range of sizes and tenures, purpose-built library, childrens centre and nursery and community space, new shops, offices and modern GP facilities, as well as improvements to open space.
Michael McCammond, Director at Stack London Ltd, said:
“We are delighted to be working with Wandsworth to deliver much needed new affordable homes at Fontley Way. We pride ourselves on our ability to continuously exceed the expectations of our customers and we will be working closely with the Wandsworth team to satisfy the requirements of the project.”
