Love your parks this summer

Weekend entertainment in borough parks starts this weekend, with live music at the Battersea Park Bandstand.

On June 18-19 enjoy Live at the Bandstand showcasing local music talent from World Heart Beat Music Academy, Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band, Battersea Power Station Community Choir and more.
Presented by Wandsworth council and Enable, most events are free.
Battersea Park will host events over four other weekends. On June 25-26 the circus comes to town with live performances plus a circus skills workshop.
July 2 will see theatre performances and workshops from Let’s All Dance, including two performances of Princess and the Pea. Putney School of Art and Design will be running painting, drawing and pottery workshops.
On July 3 the park will host Armed Forces Day and the famous Battersea Park Dog Show, which is free to enter and open to all.
Finally on July 9-10 the Bowling Green will host screenings of the Men and Women’s Wimbledon Finals. Silent disco yoga will return along with free fitness classes hosted by the Millennium Arena team and on July 10 the Spirit of Football will hold their traditional kick off from Battersea Park – home of the first ever official Football match in 1864.
All weekends throughout Summer in Battersea Park will feature a pop-up food and bar and are free to attend, with free activities to participate in, alongside some optional paid activities.
To round off the summer programme, on July 23 Wandsworth Park will host live theatre and workshops from Pick Up Productions plus art and fitness classes and a Shakespeare trail curated by Friends of Wandsworth Park.
And on July 24 Furzedown Recreation Ground will also enjoy live performances and workshops from Let’s All Dance, alongside art and theatre workshops.
