In this video, our local pharmacist, Ian Frost, encourages people to come along and get their blood pressure checked for free. He’s also been chatting to people about a wide range of health problems, including joint problems, earache, diabetes and long-COVID.

The health bus will next be out on the following date:

Wednesday 6 July, 10am-4pm
Latchmere leisure centre, Burns Rd, London SW11 5AD

Whether you are looking for general health advice for you or your family, or more information about accessing local health and wellbeing services, we’ll be able to help.

Council and NHS colleagues will be available to offer advice on a range of different areas including:

  • Tips to stay healthy and active, as well as managing your weight
  • information about keeping your heart and brain healthy, including blood pressure checks
  • help to stop smoking
  • preventing and reducing your risk for several diseases, including diabetes, cancer and heart disease
  • immunisations for you and your family
  • information about the COVID-19 vaccines
  • post-COVID-19.

Shannon Katiyo, Director of Public Health, said: “Our friendly team of council and NHS colleagues have been speaking to residents about a wide range of health concerns and problems.

“Whether you would like advice on quitting smoking, or other conditions like your risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, diabetes or dementia our trained medical professionals can help.”

“And if you want to chat about or get the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as speaking to someone about long-COVID, then please do come along.”

NHS staff will also be on hand to give you the COVID-19 vaccination if you haven’t yet had it, as well as the booster dose. And if you have any questions or concerns about the vaccine, you can come along and have a chat about it, with no pressure to get the jab.
