Mega Skip Days are now being held every month. On Saturday they will be in locations in Roehampton, Tooting, Wandsworth, Battersea and Balham. Usually there is a charge for bulky waste collections, but you can take up to six items along to the mega skip nearest to you for free, including some electrical equipment and household items like mattresses and sofas.
Cllr Judi Gasser, cabinet member for the environment, said: “As promised, we are holding Mega Skip Day every month to make it easier for residents to dispose of bulky items, saving them time and money and helping to reduce flytipping. Items put in the Mega Skips will be recycled.
“This month we have listened to feedback and included two locations in Roehampton, a central location near Clapham Junction, Wandle Ward and a different area of Balham. If you know an area that you think would benefit from a mega skip, email me at Cllr.J.Gasser@wandsworth.gov.uk.”
