Creative Youth Voice
Creative Wandsworth aims to ensure young people help shape and develop arts and cultural events, projects and opportunities for young people across the borough of Wandsworth. In 2020 we launched a programme of opportunities for young people age 14+ and cultural organisations to champion creative youth voice and embed it across the borough.
Creative Wandsworth Youth Panel
Started in January 2020, the Creative Wandsworth Youth Panel aims to represent the voices of young people across Wandsworth on the arts and culture offer in the borough.
The panel is made up of young people age 14-19 and in 2020 as part of the development of Wandsworth’s Arts & Culture Strategy they surveyed young people across the borough to find out their views on the current offer.
In 2021-22 the panel will be working on a Creative Youth Summit to showcase young creatives and debate issues around access to arts and culture.
For more information on the Youth Panel or to get involved contact creativewandsworth@wandsworth.gov.uk.
WAF Young Reviewers
WAF Young Reviewers is a pilot project that aims to develop arts writing skills and engage young people aged 14-19 with Wandsworth Arts Fringe.
The Young Reviewers attend an online workshop session to find out about the festival and explore how to write their own reviews with a professional critic, before choosing which WAF events they'd like to attend and review.
Creative Youth Voice support
Creative Wandsworth are pleased to be working with Lawrence Becko Associates to provide creative youth voice training for Wandsworth organisations and freelancers.
In autumn 2021 we will be running a programme of training and bespoke mentoring to support creative organisations to develop and expand their youth voice.
