Vaccine hesitancy training
Can you play a part in protecting our local communities from infectious diseases such as measles and flu?
We are offering a Making Every Contact Count (MECC) module on the topic of vaccine hesitancy. This is a chance to learn new skills to confidently manage conversations about vaccinations with residents.
You will receive a certificate after successfully completing the course and passing the quiz at the end.
Who it is for
Anyone who works closely with residents is welcome to take the training. This includes:
- Council staff
- Community workers
- Voluntary sector workers
- Pharmacy and healthcare staff (clinical and non-clinical)
In particular, it is aimed at those working with parents and elderly people.
Topics
In this course, you will learn:
- What vaccine hesitancy is
- Key information about vaccines, including the benefits
- Common myths that make residents hesitant towards vaccination
- How to provide appropriate advice about vaccinations through a MECC conversation
This module does not contain clinical information.
Time commitment
The module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Instructions depend on whether or not you are employed by Richmond and Wandsworth Councils.
