Impressed by the whole team
"I wanted to say a big thank you to you and the team for yesterday. The venue was great, the team was so helpful, so organised and I was truly impressed by the whole team."
Liz Howarth, Group Interim Director of Integration, St George's Epsom and St Helier Hospitals
An environment conducive to learning
"By making the venue an enjoyable place to be you have created an environment conducive to learning".
It was wonderful to be able to run a training workshop to a group of newly qualified social workers face to face again, and it confirmed my view that there is a connection which we make with the group participants that is just not achieved in the same way through virtual training events. All of our attendees were fully engaged and it was so much easier to judge when to pause the training to ask questions, and to encourage the social workers to think of ways that they might apply their learning to practice. I am sure that the large and pleasant rooms helped, attractive light spaces maintained at a comfortable temperature with new furniture and reliable equipment. By making the venue an enjoyable place to be you have created an environment conducive to learning where people can focus on the subject being discussed and where the trainer can read the body language and reactions of all participants, not just of whoever is speaking on a screen.
We are keen to bring as much of our social care training back to face to face as possible, and we are hoping that our forthcoming programme will see more of our colleagues benefiting from this whole and immersive experience, where participants can network in their refreshment breaks and where there is no temptation to answer emails or to divert attention to other matters.
Thank you all for the friendly support that you gave us and best of luck in re-establishing your wonderful facility after the challenges of the pandemic.
Tina Baker, Training and Development Manager for Children's Social Care Academy.
A day out worth paying for
"Part of training is helping staff feel valued. You want staff to feel good about their career development. If you bring staff here it's a real day out that's worth paying for."
